    FERTILITY TESTING & EVALUATION

    SEMEN ANALYSIS

At FATIMA IVF, FERTILITY & WOMEN’S CENTRE, we do Semen Analysis through our State of Art Lab. Semen Analysis is a basic test involving testing the semen for Sperm count, Sperm motility, Morphology and other parameters.

These parameters provide insights into the male Fertility potential and help guide appropriate fertility treatment.

    PROCEDURE

Usually 5 days of abstinence from retrieving before the test.

The sample is collected either at home or at our Centre where a separate private room is provided for the same and the semen sample is then handed over to the Embryologist for further processing.

If no sperm are present, our Fertility Specialist will test for seminal fructose. If fructose is not present, it could signify an obstruction within the ejaculatory duct or indicate that the vas deferens or seminal vesicles are congenitally missing. In these cases, surgery or other male infertility treatment may be necessary.
